RECONCILATION TROUGH ART presented by LISA FOX & THE AUSTRALIAN CONSUL GENERAL NY, The Hon. John Olsen AO A PROJECT BY RUSSELL JAMES
For a week in January, hundred New Yorkers will have the rare opportunity to view an exceptional presentation of Australian art and culture to support a cause with profound global impact. Nomad Two Worlds was inspired by the Australian reconciliation movement (initated by Australian prime minister Kewin Rudd´s apology speech in February 2008) between its modern western culture that settled there some two hundredyears ago and its Aboriginal people, the world´s oldest surviving culture.
A number of extraordinary people are involved in the project including Hugh an Deborra-Lee Jackman, Baz Luhrman, Donna Karan.
Terre & Ed Grossman have had the pleasure of meeting Russell through their company Image Mounting, bringing this amazing collaboration to our attention and are proud to support this event.
From January 22-29, 2009 The Urban Zen Center at the Donna Karan’s Stefan Weiss Studio (Co-founder of the Urban Zen Initiative), will be feature the Nomad Two Worlds Preview Exhibit, a collaborative art installation created by Russell James.
